Résumé
The energy efficiency of new construction is increasingly valued and put at the forefront of building design. However, the built environment of cities is generally highly developed and the reconstruction of buildings is obviously not a solution. From a sustainable development and energy efficiency perspective, it is essential to consider the conversion of existing buildings of all types into efficient buildings. The objective of this project is therefore to determine the green and sustainable certification options available to date for existing buildings and to consider the application of WELL certification for health and well-being to a real project, namely the upgrading to standards and heritage restoration project for Montreal city hall. //// RÉSUMÉ FRANÇAIS L’efficacité énergétique des nouvelles constructions est de plus en plus valorisée et mise en premier plan lors de la conception de bâtiments. Toutefois, le milieu bâti des villes est généralement très développé et la reconstruction des édifices n’est évidemment pas une solution. Dans une optique de développement durable et d’efficacité énergétique, il est essentiel de considérer la conversion de bâtiments existants de tous types en bâtiments performants. L’objectif de ce projet est de déterminer les options de certifications écologiques et durables offertes à ce jour pour les bâtiments existants et d’utiliser l’application de la certification WELL pour la santé et le bien-être dans le cadre d’un projet réel, soit le projet de mise aux normes et de restauration patrimoniale de l’hôtel de ville de Montréal.
